I thought you might enjoy seeing what I have been up the last weeks or so.  I have been constructing a 20'x36' garage for June, a good friend of mine.  Many of you have known June for years and most of you met her for the first time or got reacquainted with her again at the Reunion.  I discovered a 66 1/2 year old back is not intended to do this kind of labor as I can hardly walk now.  Thank God for June's son Scott, her grandson's Mike, Jeremy and Jared and Mike's friend Jake's help yesterday because all I could do was set in my lawn chair and supervise.  The project is coming along just fine with only a couple problems encountered that were easily resolved.  I hope to get the rest of the trusses tied in and ready for the framing inspection toward the middle of the week so we can put the sheathing and siding on and hang the overhead door, service door and windows this coming weekend. And if there is time, put the roofing on, otherwise I will start the roofing by myself the following week.

Below are photos of the progress shown from just after the concrete was poured to where we are at this point.

Ready to start building after the block is put in place.

The block for the building is set. Now we can start building.

One wall is up. I did this without help.

The crew having arived and working all morning take a well deserved lunch break.

Running out of daylight soon. Three trusses are set and the remaining 16 are being hung in the rafters to get them out of the driveway.

Jeremy and Jake (not shown) moving truss in position to hang.

The Lumber for the project is moved closer to save steps while building. The two 18 foot 2 x 12 headers almost killed me.

The 20 foot rear wall is ready to go up. Too heavy for me to lift into place without help.

June, Jake, Scott and Mike. Jeremy not shown and I am taking the photo.

Jeremy in front and Jake in the rear moving the trusses.

Scott and Jared (not Shown) hanging truss.

Slowly making progress.  The Sheathing is installed and the trusses are set.

Scott and Jared heading back to grab another truss.
